| Signing a Record of Discussion between A-WEB and FEO |

The Association of World Election Bodies signed a Record of Discussion (RD) with the Fijian Elections Office (FEC) on March 24, in the headquarters of FEO in Suva, Fiji to officially launch the election management capacity enhancement project through advancement in voting and counting processes of elections in Fiji.
Under the project, A-WEB and FEO will work towards introducing, for the first time, a touch-screen voting device for trade union elections in Fiji as well as upgrading the FEO’s IT infrastructure.
Throughout the project, both organizations aim to enhance accountability and transparency of elections by respecting existing electoral practices, drawing a consensus of the Fijians on the necessity of introducing ICT, and adopting new technologies in the field of elections. |
