Asian Electoral Stakeholders Forum IV

The 4th Asian Electoral Stakeholders Forum(AESF), co-hosted by the Election Commission of Sri Lanka and the Asian Network for Free Elections(ANFREL) took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka during 27th to 28th August, 2018. The Forum was an opportunity for Electoral Management Bodies(EMBs), Civil Society Organizations(CSOs) and election-related international organizations to meet and gather to recognize emerging challenges and share good electoral practices in Asia. The Forum was attended by more than 250 guests from 45 countries.


The Association of World Election Bodies(A-WEB) participated in the Forum as a speaker, giving a presentation on A-WEB’s initiatives on promoting stronger electoral institutions and inter-regional collaborations. The Forum was a good opportunity for A-WEB to strengthen its network with other participants. The representatives of A-WEB visited the President Secretariat of Sri Lanka to have a meeting with President H.E Maithripala Sirisena and discussed mutual cooperation.
