| [A-WEB Secretariat] 2021 Election Management Capacity Building Program: Fostering Transparency in Political Finance [Phase 1] |

 The A-WEB Secretariat provided the 2021 Election Management Capacity Building Program (CBP) on “Fostering Transparency in Political Finance” from 12 to 21 May in a virtual setting. Election officials from the election management bodies of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Ukraine participated in the course. The participants had an opportunity to study political financial systems in different countries including the Republic of Korea and to explore ways to enhance transparency in financial reporting and disclosure. The Training Department invited experts with extensive experience and knowledge in election management and political finance to present their expertise at the course such as Mr. Kyung Bae Park, Senior Vice President at the Korean Institute for Development Strategy, Ms. Yuliya Shypilova, Chief Technical Advisor on Election Support, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Lina Petroniene, Head of the Unit of Political and Political Campaigns Funding Control of the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Lithuania, and Dr. Eun Young Moon, Professor at the Korean Civic Education Institute for Democracy. The course ended with closing remarks by Director-General Taesig Kim of the Secretariat and the certificate award ceremony.
