Cyprus Presidential Election

Presidential election was held in Cyprus on 5 February 2023 to elect a new president. Since no candidate received a majority of votes, a runoff was held on 12 February. The president of Cyprus is elected by using the two-round system which means that if no candidate receives over 50% of the vote in the first round,  a second round was held between the top two candidates. For the result, Nikos Christodoulides who was a former foreign minister won the election by receiving 51.9% of the vote compared to Andreas Mavroyianiis who received 48.1%.

Ecuador Constitutional Referendum 

A constitutional referendum was held in Ecuador on 5 February, 2023 alongside the 2023 Ecuadorian local election. Voters were asked to approve or reject a total of eight questions surrounding changes to the Constitution of Ecuador. Turnout for the referendum was estimated at 80.74%. For the result, all the questions received negative responses.

Ecuador Local Elections

The 2023 Ecuadorian local elections were held on 5 February, 2023 alongside the 2023 Ecuadorian constitutional referendum. These elections determined 23 prefects, 23 vice-prefects, 221 mayors, 868 urban councilors, 437 rural councilors, and 4,084 principal members of the parish councils. For the result, the leftist former President Rafael Correa, whose Citizen Revolution Movement party won nearly every key race.

Monaco Parliamentary Election

Parliamentary election was held in Monaco on 5 February 2023. It was a landslide victory for the incumbent Monegasque National Union led by Brigitte Boccone-Pagès, which won all 24 seats on the national council.
