Elections of members of 15 local councils completed in Kyrgyzstan

On May 17, elections of members of 15 local councils were completed in Kyrgyzstan. Three of them first tested model of the electoral process with the use of innovative technologies, namely, voter identification was carried by the use of fingerprints and vote count was carried out automatically by means of the pickup boxes .

 

"At 7 pm, all 49 polling stations have closed, having successfully implemented the transfer of data from polling stations to the server of the Central Elections Commission through the communication channels. According to preliminary data, the overall turnout in the elections of members of the local councils amounted to 51.35%. Two stations do not have any connection, so it is impossible to obtain data, as they are located in remote mountainous areas,” the statement said.
