The National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea held the 8th Nationwide Simultaneous Local Elections -contributed by the National Election Commission of Republic of Korea- The NEC of the Republic of Korea conducted the 8^th nationwide simultaneous local elections on June 1, 2022. In these elections, 4,125 representatives were elected in the country’s 2,317 constituencies, including mayors/governors, superintendents of education, heads of city/gu/gun governments, and local council members. Out of 44 million eligible voters, 22 million cast their ballots in the elections, marking a turnout of 50.9%. Among them, 9 million used early voting, resulting in an early voter turnout of 20.6%.
