A WEB

The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea (NEC) and the Elections Commission of the Republic of Maldives (ECM) on February 18 on Hoarafushi, the Republic of Maldives. Yong-Hi Kim, Secretary General of A-WEB and the NEC, and Ahmed Sulaiman, Chairperson of the ECM, promised each other to develop a close partnership. This MOU is expected to largely contribute to conducting elections in the Republic of Maldives in a free and fair manner under the democratic electoral process and to provide effective support for the Election Management Capacity Building Project of the Republic of Maldives.   

The main agendas of this MOU are on establishment of an automated election system, enhancement of expertise and performance of election officials and improvement of election system.
