The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea (NEC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission of the Democratic Republic of Congo (INEC) on March 2 in its Secretariat in Songdo, the Republic of Korea. Yong-Hi Kim, Secretary General of A-WEB and the NEC, and Corneille Nangaa Yobeluo, Chairperson of CENI, promised each other to build a close partnership to conduct elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo in a free and fair manner under the democratic electoral process, which can contribute to effective support for the Election Management Capacity Building Project of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The main agendas of this MOU are on establishment of an automated election system, enhancement of expertise and performance of election officials and improvement of election system.
