A WEB

The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea (NEC) and the Tribunal Superior Electoral of the Republic of El Salvador (TSE) on April 11 in its Secretariat in Songdo, the Republic of Korea. Yong-Hi Kim, Secretary General of A-WEB and the NEC, and Julio Alfredo Olivo Granadino, President of the TSE, agreed to build a close partnership to conduct elections in the Republic of El Salvador in a free and fair manner under the democratic electoral process, which can contribute to effective support for the Election Management Capacity Building Project of the Republic of El Salvador. 

The main agendas of this MOU are on: establishment of an IT technological system for counting in every polling station; enhancement of expertise and performance of election officials; and support for the counting and marking process through the introduction of a computerized election system.
