The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) of Ecuador on February 15 at the JW Marriott Hotel Quito. The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to promote the exchange of experience in election management between A-WEB and the CNE through observations and recommendations on the occasion of the 2017 electoral process in Ecuador.
Among the main contents of the Memorandum of Understanding are: 1) The Mission must be conducted with impartiality, objectivity and independence in the fulfillment of its task. 2) This Memorandum of Understanding shall take effect from the date of its signing by the representatives of the Parties, and shall remain valid until the electoral process is concluded in all of its phases.
