The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the High Independent Authority for Elections of the Tunisia (HIAE) on February 07, 2017 in Tunis, Tunisia. In the MOU Kim Yong-Hi, Secretary General to A-WEB, and Mohamed Chafik Sarsar, Chairperson to HIAE, agreed to cooperate with each other in the design and implementation of the electoral process, and to establish a mechanism for mutual consultation and cooperation in the field of electoral management and administration.
The specific agendas agreed in this MOU are on: jointly holding workshops, focus group discussion or seminars on topics of particular interests to the two organizations; designing and conducting capacity building training programs that enable the electoral officials of HIAE to acquire necessary skills and understanding in the effective electoral administration; and providing technical and administrative assistance under mutual agreement for the HIAE to strengthen its institutional capacity in the field of electoral information and communication technology and to ensure a credible and effective electoral process through the application of innovative technologies. |
