2018 Election Visitor Program (EVP) in El Salvador

The 2018 A-WEB Election Visitor Program (EVP) for the Legislative and Municipal Elections of El Salvador on 4 March 2018 was held from 1 to 7 March 2018 in El Salvador.


The A-WEB Debriefing Session was held with Farewell Remarks by Head of Mission and Ecuador’s CNE Vice President Ana Marcela Paredes Encalada and by A-WEB Secretary General Kim Yong-Hi, whereby participants enthusiastically presented their observations of election management throughout the EVP.


The A-WEB Briefing Session included Welcoming Remarks by Secretary General Kim Yong-Hi of A-WEB as well as presentations on “Security Situation of El Salvador,” “History & Society of El Salvador,” “Election System of El Salvador,” “Election Management & Voting and Counting in El Salvador,” “Transmission of Results,” “Campaign Issues,” and “Observation Methodology & How to Fill in the Checklist.”


On Election Day, Sunday, 4 March 2018, participants were able to observe the opening, voting, closing and counting in various precincts as well as transmission of RTS-1000 scanners, and the processing of results at the Results Processing Center.
