The Director General Kim Jeong-Gon late last month attended a two (2) day international seminar jointly hosted by the Junta Central Electoral of the Dominican Republic (JCE) and International IDEA from August 21(Thu) 2014 to August 22(Fri) 2014 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The seminar under the theme 'Election and Technology', was attended by over 300 officials from EMBs, international organizations and media organizations who gathered to exchange knowledge and expert opinions on elections and technology. Through the four sessions of presentations, different Cases from different Countries were presented followed by Q&A sessions.

Thematic areas discussed under this topic included; ▶ The use of technology for election monitoring ▶ Financing political parties and regulating election campaigns ▶ Results of introducing technology ▶ Experiences with electronic voting systems ▶ The trends in the use of technology in electoral administration. The Director General Kim Jeong-Gon made a presentation on 'The Introduction of Technology in Vote Counting and Transmission of Election Results' and emphasized the importance of A-WEB in the realization of E-democracy.
