[A-WEB Secretariat] Conclusion of the 10th Executive Board Meeting
Last updated 2022-05-11

The 10th Executive Board Meeting was held in written form from 3 March to 29 April 2022 with a majority of members present. The Secretariat tabled a total of 18 agenda items, and the Executive Board Members submitted their opinions about each item. After the adoption of the Minutes of the 9th Executive Board Meeting, members commented on each item for report, approval, and discussion, including the plan for the holding of the 5th General Assembly Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa in October; the approval for the temporary membership for the National Election Office of Hungary; the procedures for the appointment of the next Secretary General; and the application procedure for the next Vice Chairperson and the new members of the Executive Board.

Due to the constraints caused by the spread of COVID-19, all members of the current Executive Board have served for another year. At the 5th General Assembly Meeting, 13 new Executive Board Members will be appointed.

In the closing statement, Sushil Chandra, Chief Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India, thanked all the attendees for taking their time to participate in the Meeting and providing suggestions and comments on the Agenda Items. “We can now resume physical meetings, which would enable members to get firsthand experience of the new initiatives, voter education practices, and new technologies evolved by member EMBs,” he said.
