The NEC of the Republic of Korea conducted the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections on June 1, 2022.
In these elections, 4,125 representatives were
elected in the country’s 2,317 constituencies, including mayors/governors,
superintendents of education, heads of city/gu/gun governments, and local
council members.
Out of 44 million eligible voters, 22 million cast their ballots in the elections, marking a turnout of 50.9%. Among them, 9 million used early voting, resulting in an early voter turnout of 20.6%. |
