[A-WEB Secretariat] The 3rd Tripartite Consultation meeting in the General Election Commission of Mongolia

The Secretariat of A-WEB, General Election Commission (GEC) of Mongolia and International Republican Institute (IRI) gathered in Ulan Bator on July 5, 2022, for the 3rd tripartite consultation meeting on the theme of 'Internet Voting.'

In the meeting, there were presentations on 'Current Challenges and Technological/Digital Opportunities for Elections in Mongolia' by Mr. Bayasgalan (the Head of GEC IT Center), 'Technology in Elections Around the World: Initiatives, Legal Frameworks and Resources, Raising Public Awareness' by Mr. Seung Kim (Advisor to Secretary General, A-WEB), 'Explanation on the K-Voting System of the Republic of Korea' by Mr. Max Ahn (Senior Researcher, A-WEB Secretariat) and 'Building Voter Education and Public Trust in Elections' by Mr. Craig Castagna (Resident Program Director in Ulaanbaatar, IRI).

The meeting was designed to share the experiences of the member EMBs and case studies of e-voting with GEC for its initiatives to introduce e-elections in Mongolia. All participants enjoyed informative presentations and heated discussions. The meeting is expected to help GEC set its strategy and policy to introduce e-elections in the near future.
