Election for the Vice President in India


The Vice Presidential election was held in India on August 6, 2022. The winner of this election is Jagdeep Dhankhar, with 528 votes defeating the opponent candidate Margaret Alva. The Vice President is indirectly elected by the members of both Houses of Parliament and the nominated members of Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha to serve five years. Out of 780 electors, 725 cast their ballots. The voter turnout was 92.94 %.

General Elections in Kenya

The general elections were held in Kenya on August 9, 2022, to elect the President, members of the National Assembly and Senate, county governors and members of the county assemblies. William Ruto was elected President of Kenya by 50.49% of the votes. Since he received over 50% of the vote nationally, the second round was not held. The voter turnout was 64.77%.

 

For the Senate, Kenya Kwanza got 33 seats, Azimio got 32 seats and non-affiliated got two seats. For the Nationally Assembly, Kenya Kwanza won 165 seats, Azimio la Umoja Coalition won 164 seats and non-affiliated parties got 14 seats.
