A WEB

Thanks to the valuable contributions from member EMBs in Colombia, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, South Korea, Tanzania and Uzbekistan and cooperation from colleagues in the office, the A-WEB Secretariat published this year's third issue of the A-WEB Newsletter on March 31, 2023.

In the Newsletter, the Secretariat presented news from member organizations; 

The application of the fundamental technologies for the electoral and identification process, including two initiatives of the National Civil Registry of the Republic of Colombia, implementing the Security Operations Center (SOC) and the installation of the Analytic Data Room;

Preparing and conducting the Nationwide Simultaneous Elections for Heads of Cooperatives with a turnout of 79.6% in South Korea in an atmosphere for a clean election, initiated by the National Election Commission of the Republic of Korea; 

Preparing for the 2025 elections in Malawi: meeting among stakeholders to discuss the Establishment of voter registration and constituency tally centers in all 229 constituencies. The Malawi Electoral Commission has arranged effective public meetings for stakeholders, which are the only platform it has set up to get input and feedback from all electoral stakeholders regarding establishing registration and constituency tally centers. 

Review on the participation of the Election Visitor Program in Ecuador, implemented by the A-WEB Secretariat, from the Office of the Electoral Commissioner of Mauritius, including the comparison chart of the electoral system between Mauritius and Ecuador 

"Your Vote is Your Voice" Campaign in South Africa 

Youth Voter Education and online registration campaigns by the Electoral Commission (IEC) ahead of the 2024 General Elections in South Africa. The IEC SA launched a national online voter registration campaign to encourage young citizens aged 16 years and older to visit its Voter Portal to register to vote in all future elections. 

 Appointment of Mr. Ramadhani Kailima as the new Director of

Elections in the National Electoral Commission of Tanzania by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan

The upcoming Constitutional Referendum on April 30, 2023 in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been organizing the Referendum. The draft constitutional law "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan" represents a transformation of the new Uzbekistan, prioritizing every person's rights and freedoms.

The A-WEB Secretariat shared the news on participating in the Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy, organized by the National Electoral Institute of Mexico. And the upcoming Election Visitor Program in Paraguay in response to an invitation by the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE) of Paraguay. 

Lastly, the Secretariat presented the results of elections conducted in
