Participation in 2014 US Mid-term Election Program Organized by IFES and Visits to International Organizations including USAID

From November 2nd to 8th, 2014, Director General of A-WEB Kim Jeong-Gon participated in the 2014 US Mid-term Election Program hosted by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and had opportunities to experience ways to promote civic engagement in elections including the use of campaign posters, voting, counting, voting access for individuals with disabilities and election simulation for future voters. He also had a meeting with the IFES President to discuss potential joint projects.

At the meeting, IFES showed its interest in engaging in a partnership with A-WEB for the AGENDA Regional Conference, which will be held in January, 2015. Consequently, both organizations will continuously discuss details about the conference. On his visits to Washington-based organizations including USAID, OAS and others, A-WEB and those institutions agreed on further discussion about future joint projects and MOU conclusion.

Meetings with those organizations provided opportunities to build specific business models as a follow-up of MoU and solidify partnership. A-WEB which has contributed to the development of democracy worldwide is expected to enhance its global position through beneficial joint projects with international organizations.
