A WEB

The Secretariat of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) is organizing a capacity-building training program for the officials of the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) in response to the request from the ECT. This program is scheduled to take place from September 19 to 26, 2023.

The delegation is headed by Mr. Kittipong Boriboon, Deputy Secretary-General of the ECT.

The primary objective of the program is to contribute to the enhancement of Thailand’s electoral administration by facilitating the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices related to election management.

Fifteen ECT officials are set to participate in the program which will cover a range of topics including ▲Regulation of illegal online election campaigning, ▲strategies to counter the spread of disinformation in elections, and ▲the use of ICT in election management and, among others.

The curriculum of the program has been designed based on the demands and requirements of the participants. This tailored program will be delivered through a combination of in-person lectures, discussions, and visits to relevant organizations.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for September 19 from 10:30 to 12:00 and will be held in Songdo International Business District, Incheon metropolitan city, where the A-WEB Secretariat is located.

A-WEB is an international organization that promotes cooperation and knowledge sharing among election management bodies around the world. The ECT is a founding member of A-WEB and has been actively engaged in the organization’s activities.
