Director General of A-WEB, Kim Jeong-Gon participated in the "20 Years of Electoral Democracy Colloquium & Awards Dinner," which was hosted by the Electoral Commission of South Africa(IEC) in Johannesburg from Nov. 20 to 21, 2014.

During his visit, Kim acclaimed IEC's tremendous efforts to encourage women's participation in elections, protect human rights of children and youths and to build a solid democracy in the country. He also introduced A-WEB's 2014 projects such as Election Visitor Program and EMB Capacity Building Programs for electoral officials in front of representatives from African Countries.
 
At "Electoral Democracy Awards" held in the evening of November 21, A-WEB was awarded Special Recognition from the Vice-President of IEC on behalf of election management bodies around the world.

It was the moment that A-WEB was recognized as a pivotal organization to bring election management bodies together beyond borders and boundaries in order to contribute to the development of democracy worldwide.

A-WEB will not be complacent about outcomes we have achieved and will double our efforts to promote free, fair and reliable elections with a sense of duty as a guardian of democracy.
