2014 Election Visitor Program, A-WEB's first official event since its establishment, was held in Incheon, South Korea from May 30th to June 5th.

   

The event allowed total of 111 participants from 42 different countries to visit South Korean local election on June 4th

 

Event's main programs included:

1) Introduction to Korean election system and its development (May 31)

2) Visit to Early Voting sites with Integrated voter's list (May 31)

3) Korean National Election Commission Visit & Cultural Tourism (June 1)

4) Various Seminars (June 2 - 3)

5) Observation of poll opening, polling procedures, poll closing, and vote counting (June 4)

6) Presentations on observations and Discussion (June 5)

7) Election Knowledge Fair (June 2 - 5)

   

The Election Knowledge Fair, part of the overall program, included several electoral equipment vendors such as Smartmatic, Miru Systems, Croc, Voskhod, and Scytle along with other international electoral organizations like International IDEA and IFES, offering experiences and knowledge to the participants.

 

Participants left positive comments after the program as below:

1) The program provided an opportunity for participants from different countries to share their knowledge and experience regarding their respective election systems - Robert Krimmer

2) The Early Voting system in Korea is a totally new idea and very innovative - Mohd Riza Mohmed Zuhri

3) Seminars on current electoral issues were very useful - Oybek Soatov

4) It is remarkable how A-WEB has grown since its establishment rapidly enough to host such a great program - Fazal ur Rahman Bazai
