Association of World Electoral Bodies (A-WEB) held its first Advisory Committee Meeting on May 20th in the National Assembly restaurant.

The Advisory Committee consists of 18 experts from various backgrounds including the National Assembly, the media, and judiciary circles. The Committee tries to advise A-WEB in its structure and overall business operations by integrating different expertise to help the organization fulfill its visions of global democracy development.

The meeting was presided by Kim Yong-Hi, Secretary General of A-WEB. During the meeting, the Committee members received letters of appointment, after which they continued to discuss their future role in aiding A-WEB's growth.

The Advisory Committee decided to focus on 1) securing budgets for business operations 2) employing experts needed at the Secretariat and 3) strengthening ties between Election Management Bodies and other international organizations. The members agreed to make efforts individually in their respective fields to meet these goals.  

The Committee also decided to responsibly operate upon the domestic committee's expertise, and then to gradually establish an international advisory committee for successful operations in the international community.
