The 10th Annual Meeting of the Election Management Bodies

                      - contributed by the Central Election Commision of Georgia-

The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Georgia will organize the 10th anniversary of the Annual Meeting of the Election Management Bodies (EMBs) on October 26-27, 2022.

History has been created and the Election Administration of Georgia has laid an important foundation by establishing an annual meeting of EMBs that counts already a decade. The meeting was founded to share knowledge and experience on the issues of existing challenges around the globe, forming a unique platform for deepening and widening the network among EMBs and international organizations.

During the meeting, the two-day conference will be held under the theme of "the implementation of electronic technologies in the electoral processes" and "disinformation and its impacts on electoral processes."

Georgia has gathered substantial experience in using technology in the electoral procedures by implementing the pilot project of voting, vote-counting and voter identification. Electoral technologies were introduced in 2018 by the CEC of Georgia. Each year, the scale of using technologies has increased. In this context, one of the conference's main goals is to share with the participants the novelties that the CEC of Georgia has published and to get familiar with the reforms other EMBs and stakeholders worldwide have adopted. Another important goal is to pay significant attention to the noteworthy topic of disinformation and its impacts on electoral processes. Dealing with disinformation and implementing accurate, targeted and appropriate strategic moves and activities are becoming a more and more focal point for many of us. Accordingly, handling common challenges concerning disinformation, already spread globally, generates a united cycle among us and appeals to the facilitation of joint work and efforts that will enable all of us to develop specific approaches and mechanisms.

This year's 10th-anniversary meeting will be devoted to these transformative issues, gathering EMBs, international organizations and international experts.
