Four year strategic plan of the BiH CEC 2024-2027 adopted and published for the first time The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC of BiH, or Commission) recently adopted the Strategic Plan of the CEC of BiH for the period 2024‒2027. A document that is a key step in the process of achieving a high level of organization and integrity of the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH) has been adopted in the country for the first time.
The
introductory remarks of the President of the CEC of BiH, Dr. Suad Arnautović,
emphasized the importance of this strategic document, bearing in mind the
importance of the integrity, transparency, and efficiency of the electoral
process, as well as the need to improve and modernize election procedures
through the digitization of all business processes. Dr. Arnautović points out
that the Strategic Plan of the Commission for 2024‒2027 serves as a foundation
for further systematic work, setting clear guidelines and goals, and defining
measures that will bring the election administration closer to excellence in
the organization of elections.
The vision
of the CEC of BiH is to be an election administration that organizes free,
democratic elections that reflect the will of the voters and that enjoy the
trust of voters and the public.
The CEC of BiH recognized the need for a
fundamental approach for creating a strategic plan. A deeper and more
comprehensive picture of the current situation within the electoral
administration and the electoral process was created, including the challenges
and opportunities surrounding it.
The document presents the strategic goals of
the development of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina in
the period 2024-2027 in such a way that they are divided according to
operability and functionality into seven directions:
Institutional strengthening of electoral
administration;
Introducing new information
technologies into the electoral process;
Improving infrastructure and
logistics capacities;
Increasing trust in the electoral
process and election administration;
Improving the accessibility of the
electoral process;
Increasing the integrity of the
election process;
Improving supervision and
transparency of political party financing.
By creating, adopting, and publishing the
four-year Strategic Plan for the period 2024‒2027, the CEC of BiH once again
proved its commitment to improving the electoral process to ensure the best
possible experience for all participants.
