· Number of polling stations: 11,000

· Opening and closing time of polling stations

 -  6 am and 2 pm respectively

· Number of registered voters: 4,484,928 (2020 Presidential Election)

· Voter turnout: 87.71 % (2020 Presidential Election)

· Voting age: 18 

Presidential: directly elected by universal suffrage with absolute majority

National Assembly: proportional representation from closed multi-ethnic party lists from each province Minimum quota of 2% of the votes for representation, must have 60% Hutu and 40% Tutsi members, 30% women, three members of Twa ethnic group are co-opted. 100 members elected from 18 constituencies, and 18 co-opted members 

- Senate: composed of 2 members per province, one Hutu one Tsutsi Elected by colleges of members of the Commune Councils 30% of the members of council must be women, three Twa members co-opted 36 members are indirectly elected and 3 are Twa members.

 

· Voting process: Verify National ID Card -> Receive Ballots -> Cast Ballots


· Counting process 

  1. Reconciliation and counting undertaken at polling station after close of polling in presence of candidates and agents

  2. When counting is complete, the presiding officer compiles the results and declares them publicly
  3. Independent National Electoral Commission(CENI) tallies the results and proclaims provisional results in the presence of agents, results submitted by CENI to Constitutional Court for verification and proclamation of the final results

· Time to take to announce voting results in the country​: 48 hours after the closing of polling stations
